There is lots of options with this easy vegetarian or vegan burger.

Vegan or vegetarian burger, a tasty way to enjoy Bush BBq's range of spice rubs
Prep Time12 minsCook Time10 mins
2 cups Black beans, drained and rinsed. You can also use cannelini beans if you wish
 1 cup Quinoa, cooked
 ½ cup Bread crumbs
1 Red onion, small, finely chopped
 2 Garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp Your favourite Bush BBQ spice rub....they all have their own special flavour. Maybe start with Bullseye, if you want a recommendation
1

Mash the black beans in a large mixing bowl.

2

Add cooked quinoa, bread crumbs, red onion garlic, spice rub, mix until combined

3

Divide the mixture into equal sized patties, your choice of size.  I often divide the mixture into balls, place on a tray of baking paper.  Chill in the fridge for approx 30 minutes, when you come to put them on the BBQ, flatten out to burger sized then.  Whatever suits you really.

4

Lightly cook on the BBQ for approx 4-5 minutes either side.

5

Toast some burger buns

6

Assemble the burgers by spreading with mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add lettuce, burger pattie, tomato slices, avocado slices and red onion slices.  You can also get creative and add things like beetroot, cheese, chives, tomato sauce, mustard.
