BBQ Vegan Burger using our BBQ spice rub
There is lots of options with this easy vegetarian or vegan burger.
Prep Time12 minsCook Time10 mins
2 cups Black beans, drained and rinsed. You can also use cannelini beans if you wish
1 cup Quinoa, cooked
½ cup Bread crumbs
1 Red onion, small, finely chopped
2 Garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp Your favourite Bush BBQ spice rub....they all have their own special flavour. Maybe start with Bullseye, if you want a recommendation
1Mash the black beans in a large mixing bowl.
2Add cooked quinoa, bread crumbs, red onion garlic, spice rub, mix until combined
3Divide the mixture into equal sized patties, your choice of size. I often divide the mixture into balls, place on a tray of baking paper. Chill in the fridge for approx 30 minutes, when you come to put them on the BBQ, flatten out to burger sized then. Whatever suits you really.
4Lightly cook on the BBQ for approx 4-5 minutes either side.
6Assemble the burgers by spreading with mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add lettuce, burger pattie, tomato slices, avocado slices and red onion slices. You can also get creative and add things like beetroot, cheese, chives, tomato sauce, mustard.
7Serve with your favourite sides. Enjoy.
