Saying Thankyou

Motherhood comes in many forms and on that “once in a year” special Mother’s Day its good to consider the many people who have helped shape your life.  It might be your biological mother or grandmother, but also could be your step mother, your foster mother or someone else who has played a major part in your day to day.  Each and everyone of these people, mothers, deserve your honour and recognition as well as appreciation for their love and care.

Mother’s are the people who have shaped our lives.

The History of Mother’s Day

In ancient civilisations maternal figures were revered and honored because they bought new life.  In the early 20th century an American activist, Anna Jarvis, campaigned for a day to celebrate all mothers.  USA President, Woodrow Wilson, officially recognised it as a national day in 1914.

Mother’s Day is very Special

With this Day, its a time for you to reflect back on all your mother has done for you.  Be it driving you and your friends to yet another basketball or footy training session after work, making sure your homework is done, your clothes are clean and keep you safe.  Think of the many meals that were prepared every day.  So many little jobs that became expected from your mother, not always appreciated, but still done nonetheless.

It isn’t always about presents

Just think, your mother has actually shaped your life!  Its about saying “Thankyou” and  “I love you”.  Showing appreciation for being there, maybe not just on one day of the year, but other days as well.
