Small Batch Roasting for Superior Freshness and Quality

Quality over quantity.  We want to suit your needs, that’s why our wattleseed is small batch roasted.

Our artisanal approach delivers an outstanding flavour with maximum freshness.  A fresher, more vibrant product just works by roasting in small quantities. The wattleseed is never stored for long periods, so it reaches you at its peak.

Freshness is key to wattleseed’s unique character — the oils and natural compounds that give it its signature roasted, nutty, coffee, chocolatey flavour are best enjoyed soon after roasting. Our small batch process guarantees that every order is roasted close to dispatch.  You will notice the full-bodied aroma and flavour that larger-scale roasting often loses.

Keep in mind different species can behave in different ways, for example Acacia victoriae starts popping like popcorn when it gets hot and flys everywhere and some of the other wattleseeds don’t do that, just depends on the species you get.

Roast wattleseed before eating

Raw or black wattleseed in high in protein, iron and fibre, a truly Australian wild herb superfood.  Keep in mind that the raw seeds often contain amylase inhibitors, so to neutralise them they need to be roasted or even boiled before being eaten.  Roasting also gives wattleseed its nutty, chocolate and coffee like flavour and amazing aroma.
